Mrs. Nowark has resided in the borough for the past ten years. She was the mother of John, Frederick, Charles, Henry and Augustus Newbaum and Mrs. Mary Wohlart, all of this place. She was sick one week. The funeral services were held in the German Lutheran church, on South Second Street. Rev. Pfuhl, of Harrisburg, conducted the funeral services. The remains were interred in the Baldwin cemetery on Hygenic Hill. Additional Comments: Tombstone in Baldwin Cemetery: "Caroline Novark August 28, 1829 - Feb 8, 1892" (Rae and Robert Neubaum saw the tombstone in the 1970's.) In the book Baldwin Cemetery by R.S. Viguers, compiled in 1999, he lists "Nowark, Caroline 28 Aug 1828-3 Feb 1892" as the inscription. However, according to the obituary in The Steelton Reporter on Saturday, February 13, 1892, she died on Tuesday, which would have been February 9th. The plot is listed in the cemetery records for Ludwig Novark. It is beside the tombstone of her son who pre-deceased her, Wilhelm Neubaum, who died in 1886 as a result of an accident at the steel mill.
