Abner Brown, the oldest citizen of Fulton township, Lancaster county, died at 
his residence near Wakefield, on Friday, the 13th, in his 89th year.  Mr. Brown 
carried on blacksmithing at Wakefield for forty years and for a number of years 
of his later life was engaged in farming.  He was an active and vigorous man all 
his life and took an active part in the affairs of the neighborhood, being 
supervisor of the public roads for several years.  The burial took place at Penn 
Hill.
