FINDLEY, in Delta, on Saturday, March 15, 1913, aged 71 years and 15 days. The funeral took place on Tuesday, services conducted by Rev. G. A. Ogg, assisted by Rev. Wm. O. Rowland. Interment took place at Mr. Vernon M. E. church, near Prospect, Harford county. Pallbearers were T. C. Ramsay, Samuel Morrison, S. J. Scarborough, W. Z. Macomber, A. J. Barnett, Price Whitaker, all except the last being comrades. Services at the grave were conducted by Corporal Baer Post G. A. R. of which deceased was a member. Deceased was a native of Lancaster county, born near Fairfield, the son of John and Lydia (MILLER) FINDLEY. At the age of 20 years he enlisted as substitute for his older brother Benjamin who had been drafted, served in Co. H. 166th Penna. Reg. and was honorably discharged July 28, 1863. He married Miss Mary R. DAY, who died about 4 years ago, and they lived and reared their family near Pleasant Hill school house in Harford county. Their eldest son William J. who died some 20 years ago learned the printing trade in the Delta Herald office. He is survived by two sons A. Newton and Harry D. FINDLEY both of Delta; also by five sisters and one brother - Mrs. Mary J. BARKLEY, of Lancaster county, Mrs. Rachel LOVE and Mrs. Charles WHITEFORD, of Delta, Mrs. Melinda LOWE, of Ohio, Mrs. Lydia A. STUART and Clayton H. FINDLEY. Mr. FINDLEY was a painter by trade and many buildings in this vicinity felt the touch of his brush. About four years ago he suffered from a paralytic stroke, from which he recovered sufficiently to be able to move about quite comfortably. This was followed at intervals by three others, the last severe stroke being about five months ago, and which resulted in his death as stated.
