Mr. Christopher Geiger, brother-in-law of R. S. Parke, Esq., of Delta, died in Lancaster on Monday, aged about 81 years. Many years ago he was manager at the Castle Fin forge, during which time he married a daughter of the late Rev. Samuel Parke. He also built and managed the Manor furnace, this county, owned by P. A. & S. Small. From York county he went to Harford county, Md., where he built Sarah Furnace and operated it as a partner of the Smalls. He went from there to Baltimore county where he built the Ashland furnace, which he ran with Edward and Joseph Patterson and the Smalls, of York, as partners. He moved to Lancaster in 1849, and retired from business several years ago. He was mainly instrumental in the building of the Lancaster and Quarryville Railroad, and was a director at the time of his death. Delta Herald and Times, Delta, PA, November 1, 1889
