All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/pa/lancaster/ _______________________________________________ The Will of Edward Davies Dated 1 March 1764 and proved 23 March 1764 In The Name of God Amen This first Day of March in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty four I Edward DAVIES of the Township of Caernarvon in the County of Lancaster Yeoman being Sick and Weak in Body but of Sound and Perfect Mind and Memory praised be Almighty God and Calling to mind the uncertainty of this mortal Life and that it is ordained for all men once to Die Do make this my Last Will and Testament in the following Manner first and principally I Recommend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God who gave it and my Body to be Decently Buried at ye Discretion of my Executrix herein after named and as Touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to Bless me I give and Bequeath it in ye following manner that is to Say first my Will is that all my Just Debts and funeral Expences be discharged and paid Also I give and Bequeath to my son John That Tract of Land whereon he now Liveth which I bought of my Brother David and all my Right in the other Tract of Land lying to the north of the former and that he Take a Patent for it in his Own name and as to my other Tract of Land whereon I now Live which is said to Contain three Hundred Acres be it more or Less I give & Bequeath it to my well Beloved wife During her Life and After her Decease to be to my Son James. And as I obtained that Land by my wife my will is that She confirm it to my Son James after her decease. Also I give and Bequeath to my beloved wife my part in the Mill and the Land thereunto Belonging to be managed between her and my Son in Law William DOUGLASS as they Shall See Cause whether to Keep it or dispose of it Also I Give and Bequeath to my three Daughters Ann Sarah and Jane the Sum of Ten Pounds to each of them to be paid them in five Years after my decease Also I Give and Bequeath to my son Forty Pounds more to be Paid him in the following manner, that is to say, Twenty Pounds in Six years after my decease and the other Twenty in Seven Years after my decease Provided he Lay no Claim to the Land which I have Bequeathed to my son James and as Touching All the Rest of my Personal Estate of what Kind soever it be and wheresoever it may be found I Give and Bequeath it to my well beloved wife whom I Constitute and Appoint my sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament hereby Revocking and Disanulling all other Wills by me made heretofore.
