In the Name of God Amen I Sarah EDWARDS of Earl Township in the County of Lancaster Pennsylvania being in sound mind and memory thanks be to God for his mercies coling to Mind the Mortality of my Body do make this my last Will and Testament in form and manner following, First and Principally I resign my Soul to God who gave it me as into the Hand of a gracious Creator not doubting but I shall receive it again by the mighty power of God who is able to Subdue all Things to himself I as to the worldly goods it hath pleased God to bless me with I give in form and in a manner following that is to say I order and my will is that my Funeral Expenses and legal Debts be justly paid. Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Dinah my Clock & Brass Pan my best Coverlid & Kaper and my blue Petticote. Item I give and bequeath to my grandaughter Mary HENDERSON five pounds; I likewise give and bequeath to her Daughter Rachel five pounds. Item. I give and bequeath to my granDaughter Sarah SMITH my best Fether Bed and stand of Curtins likewise a Coverlid of the same of Sd Curtens. Item. I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Margaret SMITH my Case of Drawers. Item I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Lydia SMITH my Damask Goun and two Pewter Dishes. Item I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Rebecca SMITH Six Silver Tea Spoons a Table Cloth Two Hand Towels. Item. I give and bequeath to my melato Wench Ann FORD my little Fether Bed. Item. I give and bequeath to my above written Grandaughters Lydia & Rebecca Ten pounds a peece to be pd by my executors hereafter named in one year after my decease in Case any of my Sd GrandChildren should die before the{y} come of age and have no lawful Issue of their Bodys their Share or Shares shall be equally divided among the Survivours of my said Grand Children. __ Any remainder that there may be of my Goods & Chattles at my dec{ease} above what is bequeathed my Will is that they shall be equally divided among my Granchildren that are above inserted. Item I Constitute apoint my Nephew Gabriel DAVIS sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other Wills & Testaments by me heretofore & This to remain according to the true Intent and meaning thereof. John EDWARDS William SMITH. __ Lancaster County Jst On the 11th day of November Anno Domini 1802 Before me the Subscriber personally appeared John EDWARDS and William SMITH the two subscribing Witnesses to the within Will and on their Corporal Oaths according to Law did severally depose and say that they were present and Saw and Heard Sarah EDWARDS the Testatrix therein named sign seal publish pronounce and declare the within Instrument in Writing as and for her last Will and Testament and that at the Time of the doing thereof She was of sound and well disposing Mind Memory and Understanding according to the best of their Knowledge Observation and Belief. ______ Be it Remembered That on the 11th day of November anno Domini 1802, The last Will and Testament of Sarah EDWARDS late of Earl Township in the County of Lancaster deceased was proved in due form of Law and Letters Testamentary thereon were granted to Gabriel DAVIS the sole Executor therein named, He having first been duly Qualified well and truly to administer the Estate of the said deceased, especially to Exhibit a true and perfect Inventory thereof into the Registers Office at Lancaster within one month, and to Render a true and Just Account of his Executorship on said Estate in One Year from this date or when thereunto lawfully required. Given under the Seal of said Office.
