John Smith, a German, was arrested by Officer Kimmel last evening and locked up in the police station. Smith was taking a nap on the court house steps and when told by the janitor to leave the place he became abusive. The janitor then called on the officer and the arrest followed. Officer Brown last evening arrested a colored man in the north part of the city for disorderly conduct and took him to the police station, where he was locked up. APPOINTED COMMISSIONER. George B. Schock, esq., has been appointed by Judge Ehrgood commissioner to inquire into the lunacy of Adam U. Reigert, and his wife, Annie C. Reigert, of North Londonderry township. The court has also appointed J. G. Adams, esq., Dr. W. H. Holsberg and Jonathan R. Seidel a commission to inquire into the luncacy of William Moyer, of Lebanon. BROKE HIS ARMS. John Wolf, aged thirteen years, a son of Christian Wolf, living near Meckville, while picking cherries in the yard of a neighbor, Henry Umbehen, fell from a tree and broke his two arms between the wrist and elbow. The broken bones were set by Dr. Grumbein, of Mt. Zion. IN ALDERMANIC COURTS. George Boger, George Arentz and John A. Lantz, of Pleasant Hill, were arrested last evening by County Detective Sattazahn charged by Albert I. Dammy, of Woodford, this county, with assault and battery. They were held in $300 bail for a hearing on Saturday. The hearing in the case of Daniel Baylor and wife, charged by Harry Geistweit and wife with assault and battery, was continued before Alderman Miller yesterday.
