R. Ellis, aged 69 years, a U. B. minister, died Friday morning at his home in Annville. He resided there for the past four years. Deceased was a native of Wales and came to this country when a boy. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the United States Navy. He was assigned to duty on board the Monitor and fought on that vessel when the famous Confederate gunboat Merrimac was sunk by the former. After the war he became a U. B. Preacher. Deceased was a member of the Allegheny Conference over 40 years. He leaves his widow and five children. Myerstown Enterprise, September 4, 1908
