Deceased came to this city about seventeen years ago and engaged in the furniture and undertaking business until sickness prevented him from doing so any longer. He was a successful businessman and some years ago erected the beautiful home on Eighth street now owned by the Lick estate. Afterwards he built two other homes on Tenth street and resided in one of them ever since. He was a good citizen, a kind neighbor, a devoted husband and father and his death is lamented by many persons who were attached to him because of the good qualities of heart which he possessed. He was always a faithful member of the U. B. church and for some years an active member of the Memorial U. B. church, to whose welfare he contributed liberally, His wife, whose maiden name was Smith, a sister of the wife of Rev. L. W. Craumer, and six children survive. These are Annie M., wife of Jacob W. Euston; Lillie May, wife of Grant Carver; and Minnie, all residing in this city; William, at Minneapolis; Irwin and Frank, of this city. Lebanon Daily News, February 11, 1895
