CYRUS MUTH Mrs. Isaac Shaeffer and Mrs. Cyrus Muth, living on neighboring farms, near the Halfway House, died on Sunday evening about the same time. Mrs. Muth will be buried on Thursday and Mrs. Shaeffer on Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock. Both were estimable women and beloved by all who knew them. Mrs. Shaeffer's death was due to typhoid fever. During the winter the entire family, consisting of husband, wife and one daughter, were sick at the same time. The husband and daughter recovered. Mrs. Shaeffer was a daughter of the late Jacob Brubaker of South Lebanon. Morris E. Spannuth has been the farrier on Isaac Shaeffer's farm occupying the tenant house. He advertised his sale of farm stock to take place today and accordingly the sale was held, although Mrs. Shaeffer is lying dead in the farm house. The sale was held quietly and orderly, as it could not well be postponed. It was an unusually large stock, 37 cows alone comprising part of it. Lebanon Daily News, March 13, 1895
