STEVENS IN MEMORIAM In recording the death of Mrs. Emma J. Stevens, whose funeral took place today, from the residence of her sister, Mrs. Adilene Boltz, North Sixth street, we feel that no words could be more consoling to her bereaved sisters and friends than her words: "I came home to die." Mrs. Stevens about 14 years ago when quite a young girl went west on a visit to a sister and while there was married. All looked bright and happy and two baby boys grew up to the age of 7 years when the Angel of Death entered their once happy home and called them from thence. The fond wife and loving mother commenced to droop and fade and day by day became weaker. She longed to get back to the place of her childhood, there to die. Little did her loving sister think that her words would be fulfilled until Sunday, at sunset, when her life went out to meet her God. Her short but useful life is ended and her gentle presence will no longer be felt; but while we must grieve for her absence and ever miss her, let us not forget that she is in her Heavenly home with God and her little ones.
